Scene 9 - Jesus Heals the Paralytic

Dec 11, 2024

Jesus began his ministry at about 30 years of age. One day, many gathered in a small house to hear Him preach. Four men brought a paralytic to be healed. When they could not get near Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof and let down the paralytic’s bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." The scribes who were sitting there questioned in their hearts, "Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Jesus, perceiving this in his spirit, said to them, "Why do you question these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise, take up your bed and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"—He said to the paralytic— "I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home." And he immediately rose and went out, so that they were all amazed and glorified God. Thus Jesus, in calling Himself the Son of Man and healing the paralytic, claimed His Lordship and demonstrated his power.
