“No Greater Love” • In John 15:13, Jesus says to his disciples, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” It’s striking that in Jesus’ estimation, the greatest expression of love is not the love between family, or the love between husband and wife, but the sacrificial love that one shows for his friends. We’ve all experienced friendship at different stages of our lives and in various forms, and yet rarely do we pause and intentionally reflect upon what friendship is. We invite you this quarter to do exactly that, as we examine what Scripture has to say about the bond that C. S. Lewis once described as “the greatest of all worldly goods.”
