Camp Briarwood
Camp Briarwood is a Christian camp for boys and girls, designed to offer summer adventures your child will never forget. The camp is operated by Quest Recreation, a sports and recreation ministry with a global reach under the supervision of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
Since its beginning in 1964, Camp Briarwood has been a place of life-changing experiences and growth for as many as 1,000 children each summer. The camp provides an atmosphere where the physical and the spiritual blend together. Each weekly session of camp includes Bible discussions, stories, songs and chapel services to help each child grow in their relationships with God and others.
Camp is held in two locations. Day Camp is held at Camp Kanawahala in Chelsea, Alabama. Overnight Camp is held at YMCA Camp Chandler in Wetumpka, Alabama. Both camps have picturesque grounds for all kinds of fun. Depending on the camp, kids get to experience activities such as hiking, swimming, canoeing, riflery, archery, arts and crafts, horseback riding, sailing, skiing, and high ropes course.

Applications may be received by scanning and emailing to Quest@Briarwood.org or by bringing to the Quest/Camp Briarwood Office, Briarwood Church room G-100. All counselor applicants must have made a personal profession of faith, be active in a church, and be willing to share their faith.

CAMP SESSIONS 2026
Day Camp
Day Camp is held at Camp Kanawahala, located approximately 15 miles from Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m until 3:15 p.m. each day. Lunch is provided each day.
The session includes hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, canoeing, B.B. guns and archery. Bible stories and songs help children grow in their relationships with each other and with God. Lunches and snacks are provided each day.
A ratio of approximately 6 campers to each counselor ensures that each child will receive personal attention. Counselors receive training in all aspects of camp.

1st-3rd Graders • June 8–12 (Mon–Fri)
The session includes hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, canoeing, B.B. guns and archery. Bible stories and songs help children grow in their relationships with each other and with God. Lunches and snacks are provided each day.
A ratio of approximately 6 campers to each counselor ensures that each child will receive personal attention. Counselors receive training in all aspects of camp.

Overnight Camp
Overnight Camp is held at YMCA Camp Chandler, located on Lake Jordan near Wetumpka, AL. Covering 475 acres. It is the perfect setting for a week of fun and growth!
Overnight Camp offers activities such as canoeing, sailing, skiing, riflery, archery, arts and crafts, horseback riding, and a high ropes course that thrills every participant. Certain activities are available for specific age groups.
Overnight Sessions:
Session A: 4th-6th Graders • June 22–27 (Mon–Sat)
Session B: 3rd-4th Graders • June 29–July 2 (Mon–Thurs)
Session C: 5th-7th Graders • July 6–11 (Mon–Sat)
Session D: 7th-10th Graders • July 13–18 (Mon–Sat)

You can access our campus off I-459 at Acton Road, exit #17. Our Acton Road entrance is across from the McDonald’s.
On Sundays, we hold two worship services in the morning, at 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., and one in the evening at 6:00 pm.
