Full Profile
Scott was born in 1974 to loving Christian parents and grew up in a supportive, faith-filled home. He is one of three children, with a brother and a sister. As part of a military family—his father served in various leadership roles in the U.S. Navy—Scott moved frequently throughout his childhood.

He attended The College of William & Mary, where he met his future wife, Jennifer (Jenn). Jenn was born in 1977 in Virginia Beach, VA. Like Scott, her family relocated a few different times growing up but spent most of her high school and college years in Virginia.

After graduating, Scott began his career at Burson-Marsteller in Washington, D.C., working in media consulting for a range of national and international corporate clients. Jenn graduated from The College of William & Mary with a degree in anthropology and spent a year working as an archaeologist before beginning a career at the National Geographic Society. During this time, Scott felt a strong call to ministry and decided to pursue theological training.

Scott and Jenn were married in June of 2000 and just three weeks later, they moved to Orlando, FL, where Scott began seminary studies at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS). He earned his Master of Divinity in 2004 and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Semitic and Egyptian Languages and Literatures at the Catholic University of America (CUA) in 2007. While in seminary, he was a pastoral intern at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Orlando, FL, and after completing his work at CUA, he served as the Director of Community Life at Christ the King Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Raleigh, N.C.

In 2009, Scott returned to RTS Orlando as a faculty member and also served as Dean of Students. He completed his Ph.D. in Semitic and Egyptian Languages and Literatures in 2012. That same year, the family moved to Washington, D.C., where Scott became President of RTS Washington, D.C.

Scott is passionate about the teaching of Scripture and its relevance to all of life, particularly within the context of worshiping and learning communities. He preaches and teaches regularly at churches in the D.C. area, including Fourth Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Bethesda, MD where he is an ordained Teaching Elder, and Grace Downtown Church (PCA) in Washington, D.C. where he serves as Scholar-in-Residence. Scott also guest preaches at churches in different parts of the country in connection with his role as President of RTS. He has taught at The Catholic University of America, the Augustine Theological Institute in Malta, the International Training Institute in the Mediterranean basin, C.S. Lewis Institute, and for Third Millennium Ministries.

Scott and Jenn are the proud parents of five daughters: Naomi (21), Mary (18), Charlotte (16), Catherine (14), and Donna (10).
