Investigative Committee Update
Briarwood Family,
Our congregation has been blessed with wonderful sermons from our guest pastors this summer and I know God will continue to bless us with great sermons the remainder of the summer. I wanted to provide the congregation with some updated information on Session activities regarding the next steps in our transition journey. The Session recently approved an Investigative Committee to gather information to educate the Session on potential options to consider for the next phase of transition. This committee will not make any decisions on the transition plans. Please pray for the men on this committee (Billy Ball, Kevin Gush, Mike Mungenast, Bryan Word, and Bruce Stallings) and the Session as we seek God's will.
Our congregation and staff continue to grieve the loss of our beloved Pastor Reeder. Please continue to earnestly pray for the Reeder family, unity in our church and that we would love one another well. As I noted in the communication last month, your Session is committed to shepherding the congregation and staff during this critical time in the history of our church. God's word states in Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Let's continue to trust in our sovereign God and wait on Him to work His perfect plan for Briarwood.
In Christ Alone,
