Frank Barker Chair of Missions & Evangelism
Frank Barker Chair of Missions & Evangelism, Westminster Theological Seminary
In recognition of Frank Barker’s service to the cause of Christ, Westminster Theological Seminary has established the Frank Barker Chair of Missions and Evangelism.
This endowed chair seeks to honor Dr. Barker and his commitment to faithful, expository preaching and evangelistic efforts. As an endowed chair, Westminster will be financially afforded the opportunity to continue to facilitate rigorous theological education so as to train specialists in the Bible who are keen to evangelize in our increasingly tumultuous and adversarial culture.
The Vision, Objective, & Imperatives of the Frank Barker Chair
The Mission of Westminster Theological Seminary is to train specialists in the Bible to proclaim the whole counsel of God for Christ and His global church. In keeping with this mission, the Frank Barker Chair of Missions and Evangelism underwrites Westminster’s commitment to faithful practical ministry so that the seminary can perpetuate the rigorous application of Reformed theology in missions and in evangelism. The financial resources provided by this chair will equip Westminster to continue to mobilize mission-hearted, biblically-trained, pastor-evangelists.
This endowed chair will honor Dr. Barker’s passion for personal evangelism, missions, and expository Bible teaching. The chair will support a fully-funded faculty position that will preserve Frank’s legacy of training Gospel heralds through a commitment to a principled evangelical philosophy of ministry, a vision for effective evangelism and Biblical missions, and a manifest love of Christ’s church and lost people.
